The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Mr. Yangwoo Park, have signed, within the framework of FITUR, the Action Plan of the 2020-2021 Tourism Biannual Program, a plan that gives continuity to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during the trip from the State of the Kings to Seoul last October.

The MoU was signed with the objective of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism. The plan, designed to develop this MoU, aims to strengthen understanding between the two countries, promote the exchange of experiences and information in the field of tourism and cooperation, foster cooperation between governments and, ultimately, strengthen tourism relations between the two countries.

For Reyes Maroto, “from the Ministry we want South Korean tourists to bet more and more on Spain on their trips to Europe. The Action Plan will favor the increase of these tourist flows, thus helping the search for a more diversified tourism towards distant and higher quality markets ”.

South Korea has become the third largest emitting market in Asia for Spain and, between January and November of last year, we received 568,000 tourists from South Korea, more than a 27 percent increase compared to the same period of 2018
