The Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Function and the General Council of Spanish Lawyers have signed an agreement to enable professionals of the legal profession registered in the bar associations of Spain and authorized by the General Council, for the electronic presentation of documents in representation of third parties, in order to promote the fulfillment of obligations and the exercise of administrative rights by citizens before the government delegations and subdelegations.
The agreement, signed by the Secretary of State for Territorial Policy and Public Function, Francisco Hernández Spínola, and the president of the General Council of Lawyers, Victoria Ortega, allows members to process the documentation of immigration that is carried out in the delegations and subdelegations of the Government, through the immigration offices, on behalf of its represented and telematically.
The lawyers integrated into the Law Council, therefore, are empowered to present initial applications for aliens, for example "arraigo", by electronic means, authorization that allows the personal presentation to be replaced by the interested party by the presentation of the file and documentation electronically through a representative.
This agreement will avoid in the future displacement and long waits of foreign citizens in the offices of the General State Administration in government delegations and subdelegations and, at the same time, it represents a new aid to facilitate procedures for foreign citizens, during this period. with limitations in travel and personalized attention.
