The Advisory Council for Economic Affairs has been established, an advisory body made up of renowned Spanish experts in different economic disciplines.

This Council will provide advice on economic policy for improving productivity and supporting the company. Likewise, the experts will contribute their knowledge on the application and effectiveness of the best international practices and will offer a vision of the academic analysis of each subject.

The creation of the Economic Affairs Council is part of the objective for the coming years to achieve more inclusive and sustainable growth, with the knowledge and experience of experts in the academic and research fields in the process of designing economic policy.

It is also in line with the best practices put in place by other countries, which also have expert councils or committees specialized in the different economic areas.

The first meeting of the Advisory Council has been held semi-presentially at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, since some of the experts have participated electronically.

The third vice president and minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, will chair the Advisory Council, and the Secretary of State for Economy and Business Support, Ana de la Cueva, will occupy the Vice Presidency.
