The public pension system pays 9,745,121 benefits for retirement, widowhood, orphanhood, permanent disability and in favor of family members. The payroll of contributory pensions amounts to 9,662.13 million euros.
The monthly list of Social Security contributory pensions reached 9,662.13 million euros on July 1, which represents a 5.07% year-on-year increase, in homogeneous terms *.
The average pension of the System, which includes the different classes (retirement, permanent disability, widowhood, orphanhood and in favor of family members), is 991.48 euros per month. Specifically, the average retirement pension amounts to 1,138.75 euros per month and the widow's pension stands at 712.51 euros. As for the new registrations, the average retirement pension (June) is 1,318.95 euros in the whole system.
The Social Security System pays 9,745,121 contributory pensions, 1.20% more than in July last year. 6,039,967 are retirement; 2,361,900 correspond to widow's benefits; 959,221 are permanent disability benefits; 341,333 are of orphanhood and 42,700, in favor of relatives.
The number of members per pensioner amounted to 2.32 on average in June, the latest data published by Social Security.
* The data of the annual increase in the payroll of January, February, March, April, May and June 2019, which appears in the attached statistics, shows the variation rate, 6.97%, with respect to the corresponding payroll of 2018, that still did not register the definitive revaluation. This was approved in July and applied retroactively to January 1, 2018.
