The president of the Confederation of Business Associations of the Balearic Islands (CAEB), Carmen Planas, and the director of the Occupational Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities of the Mater Misericordiae Organization, Barbara Mestre, have signed the accession of the social entity to the Program ‘CAEB Facilitates’, dedicated to favoring the labor integration of disadvantaged or at risk of social exclusion.

The president of CAEB has stressed that 'CAEB Facilita' is “the program that we promote from CAEB within the actions that make up our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy since, through 'CAEB Facilitates, we offer opportunities to people in vulnerable situations of our community. ”

“From CAEB we want to strengthen and promote the social value of the entrepreneur, promoting responsible management models that ensure both the competitiveness of companies and growth of the economy, as well as the attention to people, encouraging organizations of all sizes and sectors undertake actions in relation to the different interest groups, with special attention to disadvantaged groups, ”added Carmen Planas.

Bárbara Mestre has stated that “the mission of the Mater Misericordiae Organization is to ensure that people with disabilities and their families improve the quality of life, facilitating the satisfaction of their needs, and achieve a life as dignified, full and autonomous as possible, with the necessary support and opportunities offered by the environment ”.

The director of the Occupational Center for people with intellectual disabilities of the Mater Misericordiae Organization stressed that “having a dignified occupation and feeling useful in society helps in our quality of life. That's why we offer a dozen workshops for adults in which we work different social and work skills. ”

Mestre explained that “the Occupational Center has a wide range of workshops so that each person can find the one in which he best develops his skills. All workshops have been created based on common values ​​such as that the person served feels useful, respect for the environment or recycling and reuse of materials. ”

The director of the Occupational Center for people with intellectual disabilities of the Mater Misericordiae Organization has added that “in our center there are occupational and pre-labor workshops. In occupational workshops, social skills such as solidarity are promoted, which means helping others when they need it, and in pre-work workshops, the acquisition of work habits such as punctuality is encouraged, which is to arrive at the correct time to the workshop. "
