The president of MAPFRE, Antonio Huertas, stressed that the company he runs has become a great social agent that reverts benefits because it is a commitment that is part of the need to improve the lives of citizens, which helps the very Fundación MAPFRE, during his speech at the CEOE CEPYME Business Meetings.
In these meetings, which have been held today in Madrid under the motto "Moving towards global leadership. Transforming us to grow profitably ", Antonio Huertas also highlighted the commitment that MAPFRE has with its customers and with its shareholders, which in recent years have had a profitability of 5.24%, and which, in 8 of the last 10, was paid in cash, reaching the figure of 3000 million euros.
He also referred to the enormous international dimension of the company that has business in more than 100 countries, highlighting its presence in Latin America where it is in all countries except Cuba and Bolivia. In addition, he referred to the consolidation of the company in the US. While highlighting that, in total, more than 250,000 families around the world work for Mapfre.
When making some reflections on the economic challenges facing Spain, he spoke of the need for political stability that serves to face these challenges and that will also serve to continue growing and remain a benchmark for many others. He also spoke of the importance of digitalization for business and administrations and the aging of those who said was a consequence of the transformation of society that must be addressed.
For his part, the president of CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, stressed the importance of MAPFRE as a Spanish international that we should be proud of and considered that innovation is one of the keys that define the company. He recalled that one of his first jobs was in the aforementioned company.
Finally, Gerardo Cuerva, president of CEPYME, closed the meeting, highlighting Mapfre's social commitment and its effort in the field of innovation. He also stressed the need to put companies "at the center of the policy and not the target."
