They transported hashish from Morocco to the coasts of Granada or Malaga in high-speed semi-rigid boats and hid it until it was distributed throughout Europe.
The Civil Guard and the Tax Agency, within the framework of the "Digitaro" operation, have broken up a criminal organization dedicated to the international trafficking of hashish that operated in the provinces of Granada and Malaga.
34 people have been arrested, including the leader of the network. Likewise, four house searches have been carried out in the Granada towns of Almuñécar, Jete and La Herradura.
Agents have seized 1,960 kilos of hashish and 3 high-speed semi-rigid boats, in which they transported the drug. In addition, 10 cars have been intervened and a stolen van and SUV have been recovered, which were the vehicles they used to take out and transport the hashish stored on the beach; 2 motorcycles; 2 trailers; 38 mobile phones; 2 GPS; 1 satellite phone; computer equipment and 3,570 euros.
The investigation began in August 2019 after detecting the presence of a criminal organization that was dedicated to introducing large amounts of hashish from Morocco into Spain and that was permanently operating in the provinces of Granada and Malaga.
During the investigation phase, the agents verified that this network had four pilots specialized in navigating high-speed boats, the well-known narco-boats, and also three boats of this type that they used to make several caches in one night.
The organization reached the shores of Morocco, loaded the hashish and transported it to the shores of Granada or Malaga, where there was already an operation ready to load the drug and quickly transport it to homes or warehouses where they hid it until it was distributed throughout Europe. All in just a few hours in the same night.
However, this organization did not work only for itself, it also provided the logistical support necessary for other criminal groups to traffic in hashish: from launching the necessary boats for transport, looking for the warehouse for custody, providing personnel for the caches and vehicles for transportation.
The exploitation phase began during the morning of December 29, 2019 with the intervention of a stash of 1960 kilos of hashish on the beach of El Playazo de Nerja (Málaga). After this frustrated stash, 3 people were arrested and a stolen van was recovered.
From that moment on, investigators have worked to identify and arrest all the members of this organization and to discover the role that each one of them played within the criminal network.
