The Civil Guard arrests 3 people and investigates 4 others for the illegal sale of unapproved masks
The result of the two phases of the operation has resulted in the arrest of 5 people and 12 investigated
The Civil Guard has carried out the second phase of the “Coronafarma” operation, in which 3 people have been detained and 4 investigated, in the towns of Madrid, Riba – Roja del Turia (Valencia) and Candeleda (Ávila), 5 of the which are of Chinese nationality, as alleged perpetrators of crimes of illicit association, against public health, money laundering and against industrial property.
After the exploitation of the first phase of this operation and as a result of the analysis of the documentation seized, the Civil Guard investigators managed to identify those responsible for the import and distribution of these unapproved masks, managing to arrest and investigate these 7 people.
These acquired the masks in China, sent them to Valencia where the distribution and sale began throughout the national territory.
First phase of the operation
The Coronafarma operation had its origin last April, where the Civil Guard managed to intervene and remove from the market more than 260,000 unapproved masks valued economically at 300,000 euros and 5 people were arrested and 12 others were investigated as alleged perpetrators of the Crimes of of Illicit Association, against Public Health, Money Laundering, against Industrial Property, Scam and Forgery of Public Document.
The operation has been carried out by the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of Arenas de San Pedro of the Commandery of Ávila.
