The Civil Guard detains one of the most wanted fugitives in the United Kingdom
This is the leader of a dangerous criminal organization, which kidnapped and tortured a drug dealer in his country, posing as a policeman
In his detention in Spain, he put up great resistance to the agents, trying to spray them with pepper spray in order to get away again.
The Civil Guard has arrested one of the most wanted fugitives in the United Kingdom in Orihuela Costa (Alicante). The British authorities attribute the crimes of kidnapping, blackmail, illegal possession of weapons and injuries to him. In Spain he has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, a crime against road safety for reckless driving and a crime of damages.
The Civil Guard, as a result of an operation related to drug trafficking in Torrevieja (Alicante), has managed to capture an extremely dangerous and violent fugitive from British justice, who fled his country to hide in a home on the Coast White
The investigation began last summer, when a drug pass was detected in a leisure area of the coastal town. The agents went to stop the occupants of a vehicle, who were related to the investigation, but they made a high-speed escape, which lasted several kilometers.
Along the way, in addition to trying to ram the police vehicle, they endangered the lives of more than one person, who was at that time walking through the streets of that town.
The chase ended when he crashed his car into a tree after driving inside a playground. Despite the blow, the driver managed to escape, while the passenger was immediately arrested.
From that moment, the work of the Civil Guard focused on fully identifying the fled individual, for which they had the reports sent by the authorities of the United Kingdom. In them they explained that the person they were looking for was extremely dangerous and violent, as well as being one of the most wanted fugitives from his country of origin.
With all the information obtained, they focused on surveillance and monitoring of people who could have some relationship with him, until they found his hiding place in one of the multiple urbanizations of Orihuela Costa (Alicante).
Before he changed address again, a large device was deployed aimed at his arrest to which, when the time came, he put up great resistance trying to escape in his vehicle. Seeing that he could not get away from the officers, he used a can of pepper spray to spray and neutralize the officers.
Finally, it was possible to reduce and arrest this 36-year-old Briton, as the alleged author, in Spain, of a crime against public health, a crime against road safety for reckless driving and a crime of damages.
The Court of Instruction No. 2 of Torrevieja, yesterday decreed his entry into prison, while the extradition will be carried out by the Central Court of Instruction No. 5 of the National Court.
Criminal history
This person's extreme violence is reflected in his criminal record as the leader of a criminal organization, who kidnapped a drug dealer posing as a policeman. The victim was tortured and various parts of his body were burned. In exchange for freedom, they requested a ransom of £ 500,000.
The British authorities managed to arrest several of the members of the group, who are currently serving a sentence in prison, but the one who had fled to Spain to evade the action of justice had yet to be arrested.
The requested extradition is based on the crimes of conspiracy to kidnap, for which life imprisonment is requested; blackmail conspiracy, requiring 14 years in prison; illegal possession of weapons, which requires 10 years in prison; and a crime of injuries, for which he is required 5 years in prison.
