The detainee falsified two COVID-19 complaints and then left them in two shops that were competing with him in order for them to close

The alleged crimes of usurpation of public functions, coercion and falsification are imputed to him

The Civil Guard has detained the owner of a call center in S´Arenal (Mallorca) for making and sending false complaints to two other establishments in the area in order to coerce the owners to close and keep him with a monopoly on the business.

The alleged crimes of usurpation of public functions, coercion and falsification are imputed to him.
The investigation began after the owner of a call center in S ’Arenal (Mallorca) appeared at the Llucmajor Civil Guard premises, requesting explanations for a complaint they had left under the door of his business. The alleged complaint was for opening his establishment to the public and violating the Royal Decree established in the state of alarm, in addition, a relative with the same business in the same area had received another in the same sense.
After reading the document, the civil guard was struck by some data that was collected in the alleged complaint, so he realized at the time that it was a forgery.
After indicating to the affected person that he could open his business, the two falsified complaints were analyzed, which led the agents to a third man who also runs a parlor in the vicinity of the other two.
For this reason, a registry was carried out in this establishment, where official documents (complaints and notifications) were found, of the Civil Guard that the detainee had used to cut official signatures and seals and thus make the forgeries. All this in order to supposedly coerce the owners of nearby businesses to close and remain the only open call center in the area.
