The Civil Guard detains thirty-two people for theft of vehicles in the framework of the “Silver Rings” operation
The vehicles were stolen in the Community of Madrid and Castilla la Mancha and distributed by parts to Poland and Germany or "makeup" and sold to other criminal organizations
51 complete vehicles and 300 other parts have been recovered
The Civil Guard, in the framework of the “Silver Rings” operation, in collaboration with the German Federal Police “Bundespolizei”, the police of the Republic of Poland “Policja” and under the coordination of EUROPOL, has arrested 32 people for robbery of vehicles in national territory and later exploded and sold in countries of the European Union or sale of complete vehicles, once the identification elements have been modified, to criminal organizations operating in southern Spain, dedicated mainly to hashish traffic.
The detainees, aged between 19 and 64, are of Spanish, Polish, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Moroccan, Dominican and Peruvian nationalities.
The criminal organization was run by a family clan of Polish nationality, with a pyramid structure (on the cusp a single leader assisted by two relatives) and divided into tentacles, not knowing each other. All members have a police record for the same events in Spain, France, Germany and Poland.
They are charged with the crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, continued crime of vehicle theft, fraud, documentary falsification, receipt, usurpation of real estate and crimes against Road Safety. 22 records have been made in Madrid: Madrid, Valdemoro, Parla, Loeches, Velilla de San Antonio and Toledo: Illescas, Casarrubios del Monte, Yuncos, Borox, Numancia de la Sagra and Ocaña and recovered 51 complete vehicles.
The operation begins after detecting shipments of parts of vehicles suspected of not being legal. Shipments were made by parcel and transport companies with headquarters in Poland. These transports circulated with false documentation issued by screen companies dedicated to the international transport of goods and directed by the dome of the criminal organization. They were carried out in the early hours of holidays, using roads with a large influx of people (highways and highways), crossing the borders at night to avoid being detected by the different police.
The pieces, coming from the breakdown of mid / high-end cars, were stolen in Spanish territory (Community of Madrid and Castilla la Mancha), of a great variety of brands and models, which gives an idea of the specialization of the Criminal Organization in mocking the security systems of such diverse vehicle manufacturers, using state-of-the-art mechanical opening elements to enter the cabin and once inside connected devices to the access ports to the on-board computers, modifying the switchboards, managing to subtract the vehicle in Record time and without leaving clues.
The members of the criminal organization had orders not to stop if they were caught in their criminal actions, endangering the Civil Guard and road users on multiple occasions.
Parts and vehicles worth 2.5 million euros have been recovered.
The operation, which has completely dismantled the criminal organization, has been carried out by the Madrid Traffic Sector in collaboration with the Civil Guard Commanders of Madrid and Toledo and the Criminal Guard Service of the Civil Guard.
