The Civil Guard discovers two illegal weapons workshops in Huesca after a case of gender violence

The owner of the workshops has been arrested for mistreating his ex-wife, at whom he pointed a gun while he was chasing her with his car on a highway

When conducting searches at the home and in two warehouses of its property, the Civil Guard has found the two illegal weapons workshops

The Civil Guard has discovered two illegal weapons workshops in La Hoya de Huesca after the complaint of a case of gender violence.

The discovery occurred after the former wife of the owner of the workshop – already arrested – reported suffering physical and mental abuse, as well as death threats from her partner.

In separation proceedings, the victim has suffered the last death threat this month, when he was driving on a highway and his ex-partner positioned himself with his vehicle in parallel and threatened him by pointing a firearm at him.

The Women and Minors Team (EMUME) of Huesca, together with the Judicial Police of Huesca and Zaragoza, located the author – 50 years old – and proceeded to arrest him.

After the arrest, the Civil Guard registers both the residence of the detainee, as well as two warehouses of his property, where there are two illegal workshops in which they manufacture and modify weapons in an illegal way.

Effects intervened

  • Three rifles and three shotguns –
  • Various illegal knives: boxing keys, daggers, double-edged knives, automatic knives.
  • Many essential parts for the manufacture of weapons
  • Muzzleloaders, historical pistols, ornamental weapons, and disabled weapons.
  • Numerous metal cartridges for different calibers, war cartridges and bulletproof vests.
  • Two pyrotechnic smoke pipes.
  • Utensils for the cleaning and maintenance of weapons.
  • Numerous empty pods ready for filling.

A 105 mm artillery projectile that was detonated by the TEDAX of Zaragoza has also been intervened.

In the operation carried out by the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of Huesca, personnel from the Intervention of Weapons and Explosives of the Civil Guard of Huesca, of the USECIC of the Civil Guard of Huesca, of the Laboratory of Criminalistics of the Civil Guard of Huesca, Explosives Deactivation Team (TEDAX) of the Civil Guard of Zaragoza, personnel of the Central Cynological Unit (Madrid), as well as members of the Citizen Security Posts of Ayerbe, Huesca and Almudévar.

The proceedings conducted are at the disposal of the Investigating Court No. 2 of Huesca.
