They used to steal hashish from other organizations posing as agents of authority
17 members of the organization based in the province of Seville have been arrested and almost 2,000 kilos of hashish have been seized, as well as firearms, high-end vehicles and 46,000 euros in cash
In a farm they had about 200 roosters of race, some of them winners and of high economic value that they used to fight fights
The Civil Guard, within the framework of the REÑIDERO operation, has dismantled a criminal network dedicated to stealing hashish items from other organizations engaged in drug trafficking by posing as agents of the authority.
17 members of the group have been arrested for the alleged crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, robbery with violence and intimidation, illegal possession of weapons and some of the members for a crime against road safety for lack of driving license.
The operation began after the theft of a rental van at gunpoint. From the first moment the civil guards who received the complaint had doubts about the veracity of it.
For this reason they began the search for the van, which they found in an industrial estate in San José de la Rinconada (Seville) and after several steps a nearby farm was located where the vehicle could have been before the place where it appeared.
Investigators suspected that the van could have been used in a narcotics transport so they decided to control the mentioned farm.
While in the immediate vicinity of the farm they watched as two vehicles left the same and once they had stopped and registered them, they found in the trunk several bundles of hashish.
After the corresponding judicial authorization, the agents searched the farm where they found hidden under some tarpaulins plus hashish bales, with a total weight of 1,950 kilos. In addition, they located 3 short weapons, 6 Civil Guard identification vests and police priority lights for vehicles. Finally, three vehicles were seized, one of them stolen and with folded plates also stolen, and two men and one woman were arrested.
Also, on the farm there was what is known as a rooster of roosters, very well prepared facilities, where in addition to the place where the fights take place, there were about 200 roosters of race, some of them rewarded and therefore of high economic value .
During the investigation the agents prove that it was a group dedicated to “turning around” other criminal organizations posing as police, hence they had police material on the farm. It is also verified that the core of the network was located in the neighborhoods of Padre Pio-Palmete.
Once the components of the organization and their tasks were located within it, the Court of Instruction number 18 of Seville was requested 16 entries and records in homes and warehouses in the towns of Seville, Lebrija, Paradas, Marchena, Alcalá de Guadaira and Dos Hermanas. After that, 14 members of the network were arrested.
Likewise, 46,000 euros were seized in cash, abundant documentation, as well as four high-end vehicles.
The operation has been developed by agents belonging to the Civil Guard Command of Seville, OCON, GAR, GRS and Air Service.
