The Civil Guard, within the framework of the Marwone operation, has broken up a criminal organization dedicated to the land transport of large numbers of hashish from different points in the province of Malaga to France. There are seven people arrested, all of them of French nationality, and about 4,500 kilos of hashish and 11 vehicles have been seized.
The drug was transported from the Costa del Sol to France using vans with counterfeit screen printing from a well-known parcel delivery company.
The investigations began last May, when the Civil Guard tried to identify, in a routine check on the A-45 motorway, a van printed with the logo of a well-known parcel delivery company. At the agents' request, the driver ignored and began to flee, leaving the van at one of the motorway exits, at the height of the town of Benamejí in Cordoba and continuing on foot. The van was loaded with burlap bales containing about 1,800 kilos of hashish.
A police operation was established that concluded with the arrest of the van driver, a 34-year-old French citizen, accused of a drug trafficking offense.
Subsequently, an investigation was initiated to determine the infrastructure surrounding the intercepted van that culminated in the detection of 4 vehicles used by the organization that were traveling together, forming a convoy that gave security to a possible cargo vehicle. The first vehicle served as a shuttle to warn of potential police checks. In the operation the 5 people who occupied the vehicles were arrested and 1,650 kilos of hashish were seized inside the van
Subsequently, records were made in four domiciles related to the organization in the provinces of Mijas and Fuengirola (Málaga) and another person was arrested who was in custody and custody.
Another 1,050 kilos of hashish were loaded in another van that was prepared for another shipment; five vehicles related to previous transport; inhibitors and frequency detectors; around 20,000 euros in cash and a large number of false identity documents of detainees, scales, vacuum packing machines, mobile phones and other communications systems, as well as other material usually related to drug trafficking offenses.
The operation has been developed in the provinces of Benamejí (Córdoba), Tudela (Navarra), Gallur (Zaragoza), Mijas and Fuengirola (Málaga) and has been carried out by the Organic Judicial Police Unit of the Civil Guard Command of Córdoba, in collaboration with the Organ for the Coordination of Operations against Drug Trafficking (OCON South) and the Team Against Organized Crime of Benalmádena. The staff of the Rapid Action Group (GAR), the Lucena Traffic Detachment and the Judicial Police Team of the Civil Guard of Puente Genil have also collaborated, acting under the direction of the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 2 of Lucena (Córdoba ) and the Drug Enforcement Office of Córdoba.
