The Civil Guard dismantles a traveling criminal group specialized in the commission of robberies in establishments
To date, 20 robberies committed in restaurants, gaming halls and service areas have been cleared up, located in the provinces of Córdoba, Seville and Jaén
They stole vehicles to load and transport the stolen material, as well as to commit crimes using the “moon landing” method
On the other hand, three people have been investigated in Isla Cristina (Huelva) who have skipped the confinement to access the facilities of a hotel in the town
The Civil Guard, within the framework of the “CORIUM” operation, has broken up a criminal group in Córdoba, made up of four people, dedicated to robbery at gas stations, gaming halls and restaurants.
The operation began in December 2019 after a series of robberies occurred in service stations, restaurants and gaming halls in the province. The criminals after accessing the interior of the buildings, by breaking the glazing, forcing the accesses, or even using the “moon landing” method, mainly stole currency and arcade machines, tobacco and money.
The first investigations revealed that most of the robberies had been committed by the same criminal group, which had a long criminal relationship.
Given this, the Civil Guard established a service device aimed at preventing this type of event in the province, as well as identifying, locating and arresting the alleged perpetrators.
Modus operandi
Members of the network removed vehicles to load and transport the stolen material, as well as in some cases used them to access the interior of the buildings using the “moon landing” method. Likewise, the Civil Guard was able to specify that it was a group of people with great geographical mobility both in the commission of the robberies and in their places of residence, continually changing the province, which made investigation work even more difficult.
The progress of the investigation allowed to identify the four members of the group and verify that it was perfectly structured and hierarchical, each having a perfectly defined role in the criminal activity that they carried out. The arrests of the members of this gang were carried out in the provinces of Badajoz and Córdoba.
So far, a total of 20 crimes against property have been cleared up, committed in gas stations, restaurants and gambling halls in the provinces of Córdoba, Seville and Jaén, highlighting among them the one committed on December 16, 2019 in a game room in the town of Villa del Río, where after accessing its interior they intimidated an employee.
This operation has been carried out by agents belonging to the Heritage Team of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of Córdoba.
Investigated for skipping the confinement to bathe in the pool of a closed hotel in Huelva
The Civil Guard has investigated three people in Isla Cristina (Huelva) who skipped the confinement to access the facilities of a hotel in the town.
The investigation began on May 9 when the agents became aware of a video, broadcast through a well-known social network, in which three people were seen inside the pool of a hotel in the area, which was He was closed to the public drinking alcoholic beverages and bathing, thus violating the prohibition on free movement of persons in force at the time.
After analyzing the images obtained, these three people could be identified, who accessed the hotel facilities without any authorization on May 8.
Likewise, it has been verified that these people also have several infractions of Organic Law 4/2015 on the Protection of Citizen Security for repeatedly violating the prohibition on the free movement of people.
