The Civil Guard dismantles an international drug supply structure for the Balearic Islands
12 records have been made and 12 people have been arrested in the provinces of Madrid, Barcelona and the Balearic Islands
A perfectly equipped laboratory for the preparation of cocaine has been dismantled and 3.5 kilos of cocaine, large amount of cutting products, 16,200 euros and 560 dollars, 200 pounds sterling, have been seized, among other effects
The Civil Guard, in the framework of the so-called Crótalo operation, has arrested 12 people and has broken up a criminal organization composed of two subgroups, dedicated to the introduction of notorious amounts of cocaine in Spain for later distribution on the island of Mallorca.
The 12 members of the organization have been detained and records have been made in 12 homes in the towns of Majadahonda (Madrid), Vic and Cornellá de Llobregat (Barcelona) and in Marratxí, Lloseta and Cala Ratjada (Mallorca), in addition to in Palma
The records have seized 3.5 kilograms of cocaine, as well as a large amount of cut, 16,200 euros, 560 dollars, 200 pounds sterling, a truck tractor used to transport the drug and 3 cars. A perfectly organized laboratory for the treatment and processing of cocaine has also been dismantled, which was hidden in a basement of a house in the town of Lloseta.
The investigations began in early 2018 in Mallorca, when a group of people of Spanish, Colombian and Dominican nationalities were detected who would be devoting themselves to introducing significant amounts of cocaine into the island. They hid the drug inside trucks that make maritime trade routes from the peninsula to the Balearic Islands.
Subsequent managements managed to identify those allegedly responsible for the introduction of the drug in Spain from Colombia. For this, they hid notorious cocaine items inside containers that, from the ports of the Atlantic coast in Colombia, were destined for Spain.
At the beginning of July a kilo of cocaine was intervened in the town of Port de Alcudia (IB), a substance that had just been delivered to its carrier by the driver of a truck that arrived that morning to the island, from the Peninsula, on a ferry
Following the distribution line of the narcotic substance, it has been possible to link, to the disjointed organization, with an apprehension of 80 kilos of cocaine, at the beginning of June, in the port of Buenaventura (Colombia).
The operation has been directed by the Team Against the Organized Crime of the Balearic Islands and the Judicial Police Team of Algaida with support from the Reserve and Security Association of the Civil Guard, Citizen Security Units and the Kineological Service of the Commanders of the Civil Guard of the Balearic Islands, Madrid and Barcelona.
