The Civil Guard dismantles an organization dedicated to drug trafficking and detains 33 people
They have intervened 14.5 kilos of cocaine, 1 kilo of MDMA, 3.5 kilos of hashish, 240,000 euros, simulated weapons and several vehicles in 34 records carried out in Mallorca, Barcelona, Lleida and Huesca
The Civil Guard, in the framework of the operation BUBADU has dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking and has arrested 33 people, who introduced drugs from the Peninsula to Mallorca for sale in different towns of the Island.
During the operation, a total of 14.5 kilos of cocaine, 1 kilo of MDMA, 3.5 kilos of hashish, 2.5 kilos of cutting substance, 240,000 euros, in addition to several vehicles and simulated weapons were intervened .
Of the € 240,000, intervened, 60,000 euros were found in a double fund of a vehicle registered in Catalonia and 38,600 euros were located buried in a rural estate belonging to the municipality of Muro on the Island of Mallorca.
The operation began at the end of 2017, when agents detected a group formed by Maghreb citizens who were introducing drugs on the island of Mallorca through double funds installed in vehicles, for later distribution in different populations of the Island.
Continuing with the investigations, it was found that the organization was in contact with another organized group from the Netherlands that developed its activities in Barcelona, Huesca and Lleida and that they were the ones that supplied the drug.
As a result of the investigations, the Civil Guard detected the entry of a vehicle through the Port of Alcudia, occupied by 1 person who tried to introduce 7 kilos of cocaine hidden in a double bottom of the car.
For this reason, the agents proceeded to carry out the operation phase of the operation in which they were deployed in different towns of Mallorca, Barcelona, Lleida and Huesca to simultaneously carry out 28 home searches, as well as 5 records in garages and 1 in a shop.
With this operation, numerous drug outlets located in several locations of the Part Forana of the island of Mallorca and in the province of Barcelona have also been dismantled.
The operation began with members of the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Team of the Civil Guard of the Balearic Islands (EDOA) with the support of the Judicial Police of the Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Huesca, as well as the Reserve and Security Group, Cynological, USECIC and numerous units of Citizen Security of the different populations where the registries were practiced.
