The Civil Guard of Almería, dissolves an illegal cockfight in which 89 people were concentrated, among them minors, not complying, among others, with the measures related to the health crisis due to COVID10 in the Pozo de la Tía Manolica (Matagorda-El Ejido ).
The action took place when the Civil Guard received an anonymous notice about the large concentration of people in a warehouse located in the Matagorda neighborhood (El Ejido – Almería).
For this reason, the agents urgently move to the place surprising almost a hundred people in a ship, including minors, who were fighting an illegal cockfight, without complying, among others, with the measures related to the health crisis due to COVID-19.
During the investigation, the agents located the lifeless body of a rooster with recent injuries and 21 live roosters, which had had cuts on the ridges and artificial sharpening of the dewclaws.
In the presence of the agents, many people threw a multitude of objects on the ground (knives, narcotics, sharpening utensils, etc …) that were finally recognized by their owners, like most of the animals.
Due to these facts, the agents have investigated a person for a crime related to the protection of flora, fauna and domestic animals, and made 260 complaints related to animal protection in Andalusia, possession and consumption of narcotics and for non-compliance with the relative health measures to the COVID19 crisis.
The proceedings filed are sent to the Duty Court of El Ejido (Almería).
