The Civil Guard intervenes 26,000 packages of contraband tobacco in Alhaurín de la Torre
The driver of the van where the tobacco was transported, who is accused of a crime of Contraband, has been arrested.
The Civil Guard has apprehended 26,000 packs of tobacco of illicit origin in the town of Alhaurín de la Torre, and the driver of the van where they were transported was detained.
The events took place last day 14 when the agents who carried out a police control in the town of Alhaurín de la Torre observed a van with an apparent excess load, proceeding to halt it.
After inspection of the vehicle, a large number of cardboard boxes containing 26,000 packs of tobacco of different brands were located inside, without the driver being able to prove the legal origin of the merchandise.
For this reason, the vehicle driver, 47-year-old C.M.C, resident of the town of Mijas, was identified and arrested for a crime of tobacco smuggling and the apprehension of localized tobacco was carried out.
