The Civil Guard investigates for reckless driving a young spectator of an Asturian rally

Several videos uploaded to social networks have allowed the driver to be criminally identified and charged

The driver would have circulated in a reckless way through a section of the rally open to traffic, even colliding with the fencing of a farm

The Civil Guard has investigated and accused a 21-year-old neighbor of Avilés a crime against road safety for driving recklessly during a rally.

The events occurred last March, after the sports event "12º Critérium Solo Escort" was held, which was attended by a multitude of fans.

Once the test was completed, the person under investigation carried out his drift, spinning tops and 360-degree turns with his vehicle on the local road (Cornellana-Salas to Las Nisales and Candanonegro), invading the entire roadway with evident risk to other users, even colliding with the fencing of a farm and leaving the driving position to climb on the roof of the vehicle.

It was these fans who recorded the young man and uploaded the videos to social networks, videos that were detected by the Civil Guard, so an investigation was launched to identify the driver of the vehicle who presumably would have committed a crime against road safety.

As a result of this investigation, it was found that the investigated driver was driving in a recklessly reckless manner, without respecting the basic rules of the road, putting the lives of other road users at particular risk.

For this reason, and as there are sufficient indications of the commission of a crime against road safety, agents of the armed institute criminally charged the driver of the vehicle.

Reckless driving and speeding

Reckless driving and speeding are two of the behaviors that can be criminalized and are therefore included in the Penal Code. In both cases, the authors face fines of 12 to 24 months and deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles and mopeds for a period of 6 to 10 years, in addition to prison terms ranging from 2 to 5 years and even the requisition of the vehicle used.

The action has been carried out by agents belonging to the Traffic Sector / Subsector of the Civil Guard of Asturias.
