The Civil Guard investigates four people for reckless driving

Those investigated circulated at high speed invading the opposite direction through the Sierra de Cazorla and Segura areas

Several videos uploaded to social networks have identified the four drivers

The Civil Guard has identified four people who are drivers for an alleged crime of reckless driving when driving at high speed invading the opposite direction, through the Sierra de Cazorla and Segura areas.

The investigation began at the beginning of June, when the agents learned of the existence of some vehicles circulating through various municipalities in the Sierra de Cazorla at high speed, invading the opposite direction and performing oversteer maneuvers. Faced with such, the presence of police officers was reinforced and specific surveillance services with camouflaged vehicles were established.
Likewise, various actions were started aimed at tracking social networks, since several of these videos had been uploaded.
As a result, the Civil Guard identified four people between the ages of 19 and 27 as alleged perpetrators of a crime of reckless driving in the Sierra de Cazorla (Jaén) and Sierra del Segura (Alicante) areas.

Reckless driving and speeding

Reckless driving and speeding are two of the behaviors that can be classified as a crime and are therefore included in the Penal Code. In both cases, the authors face fines of 12 to 24 months and deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles and mopeds for a period of 6 to 10 years, in addition to prison terms ranging from 2 to 5 years and even the requisition of the vehicle used.
The action has been carried out by agents belonging to the Villacarrillo Traffic Detachment (Jaén).
