The Civil Guard in an act held yesterday by the Association of Directors of Integral Security, in the Chapel of the Convent of the Angels of Barcelona, has received the ADSI 2019 award in the category “Human values related to Security” and a plaque of recognition for the work carried out by the Body in its 175 years of history.
The ADSI 2019 award in the category “Human Values related to Security”, has been collected by Sergeant Borreguero assigned to the Biological Remains Group of the Civil Guard's Kineological Service, for his meritorious work since being out of service he moved with his dog "Xena", to integrate into the search device of Blanca Fernández Ochoa.
On September 1, as a result of the disappearance of the sportswoman and skier Blanca Fernández Ochoa the Sierra de Guadarrama, a search and location device was established with the intervention of troops from different police, fire and civil personnel with large deployment of technical means and support of air units.
In the course of the fourth day of the search device, the Civil Guard Sergeant Juan Francisco Borreguero, being out of service, moved to the search area next to his dog "XENA", the Body's Kineological Service to join the location device During the search, they located in the area of La Peñota human remains that apparently corresponded with the missing person, as confirmed by the forensic analysis.
It is worth noting the excellent tracking carried out by “XENA” guided by his instructor, praising in turn the enormous delivery and disposition of the agent who went to the work of locating a missing person, being in his spare time, but that his professionalism drove him to participate in these days of search, in a selfless way.
