The Civil Guard, within the framework of operation ESPERA78, has seized 40,000 cannabis sativa plants and 130 kilos of marijuana in the Granada municipality of Escúzar. It is the largest plantation discovered so far in the province of Granada.

The operation began after the agents learned that there could be a large marijuana plantation in Escúzar.

After establishing a device to locate the plantation, the agents discovered six greenhouses on the outskirts of the town with more than 37,000 large cannabis sativa plants, and a hectare of annexed land on which 2,122 more plants were being grown outdoors. . In addition, they found an agricultural warehouse where they processed marijuana. The members of the network had leased the greenhouses, the land and the warehouse to grow the drug.

The Civil Guard learned that the plants found were not the first cultivated. 130 kilos of marijuana from a first plantation had already been packed in the warehouse.
