The General Director of the Civil Guard, María Gámez, has held a working meeting with those responsible for the Civil Guard in the Andalusian area.
The Civil Guard commanders have explained to the Director General the tasks they carry out in the Area, in the Seville Command, and in the GRS, what their evolution has been in recent years, as well as the prospects and future plans .
The Civil Guard in Andalusia
The Andalusian Civil Guard Area is made up of the Commandery of Algeciras, Almería, Cádiz, Córoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga and Seville with a total of 456 posts, of which 59 are main, 375 ordinary and 22 auxiliary. all of them responsible for the citizen security of 87.15% of the territory of the Community. To carry out this task, it has more than 14,356 troops.
The Andalusian Area, to serve its entire demarcation, has Citizen Security Units, the Cynological Service, Mobile Material Service, Geas, Information Service, Judicial Police Service, Armament, Seprona, Occupational Risks, Roca Equipment, Pegaso Equipment, Air Units, Traffic Sector, among others.
Likewise, the Andalusia Zone includes the Regional Center for Analysis and Intelligence against Drug Trafficking (CRAIN) and the Organ for the Coordination of Operations against Drug Trafficking (OCON-SUR).
Among the topics that have been discussed during the meeting are the data related to the work carried out by the Civil Guard in relation to citizen security and drug trafficking.
Regarding crime rates, the work of the Andalusian Area during 2020 represents 21.70% at the national level, which represents a decrease of 9.09% compared to the previous year.
Regarding the rate of clarification of criminal offenses, it represents 50.88% of clarified offenses with respect to the total of known offenses.
The Director General has held a meeting with staff from all jobs in which she congratulated them on the work done in relation to the health crisis situation and urged them to continue presenting service with the same effort and dedication to offer the best service to the citizens.
María Gámez has also been able to talk with the agents who have been hospitalized for Covid-19 with whom she had telephone contact during her illness.
Command of Seville
The Civil Guard in the Seville Command is responsible for the citizen security of 98 municipalities, which represents 85.22% of the total extension of the province. To carry out this task, it has a total of 70 Positions, of which 10 are main and 60 ordinary, and it has 1,823 personnel.
Regarding the crime rates in the Seville Command during 2020, they represent 4.32% at the national level, which represents a decrease of 5.81% compared to the previous year.
Regarding the rate of clarification of criminal offenses, it represents 48.36% of clarified offenses with respect to the total of those known.
They have Citizen Security, Information, Judicial Police, Seprona, Weapons Intervention, Traffic Group, Gedex, and Cynological Service, Geas, Rock Teams, among others, to serve their demarcation.
Reserve and Security Group No. 2
The General Director has also visited the Reserve and Security Group Nº2. This Group is framed within the Reserve and Security Group (ARS) and has 353 personnel.
The A.R.S. It was created in the late eighties. It is structured in 8 Reserve and Security Groups (G.R.S.), of variable composition, in Barcelona, León, Madrid, Seville, Valencia, Pontevedra, Zaragoza and the Canary Islands, in addition to the Cavalry Squadron based in Valdemoro. Its Basic Action Unit (UBA) is made up of about 50 troops equipped with modern anti-riot equipment.
