The General Director of the Civil Guard, María Gámez, visits the land where the future Command of Zaragoza will be located
The general director of the Civil Guard has indicated that it is planned to invest almost 22 million euros for the construction of the new headquarters
In the morning, Gámez has held an institutional meeting with the President of Aragon, Javier Lambán
He has also met with the Civil Guard commanders in Aragon and has also held a meeting with civil guards who were hospitalized for covid19
The general director of the Civil Guard visited Zaragoza today together with the mayor, Jorge Azcón; the Government delegate in Aragon, Pilar Alegría; and the General of the Zone, Carlos Crespo, the land where the new headquarters of the Commandery of this province will be built, located in the Valdesparteras neighborhood. María Gámez has specified that it is planned to invest almost 22 million euros for the construction of the new headquarters and hopes to be able to tender the works during this quarter.
The general director thanked the mayor of the city for the transfer of use of the plot, which will encourage the Civil Guard to have facilities that serve to offer a better service to citizens.
Meeting in the Aragon Area
María Gámez has held a working meeting with those responsible for the Area in Aragon, the commanders of the Zaragoza Command and representatives of all the scales, in which she has been able to know first-hand the different missions and problems they face .
María Gámez has conveyed her congratulations to the civil guards of Aragon for their work, especially during the pandemic, and has held a meeting with some of the Aragonese civil guards who were hospitalized for covid19.
Meeting with Lambán
In the morning, the general director of the Civil Guard held a meeting with the president of Aragon, Javier Lambán; which was also attended by the Government delegate in Aragon, Pilar Alegría and the General of the Zone, in which they have discussed various current issues, as well as the work of the Civil Guard in the Community. The president expressed his gratitude for the work that the Corps has carried out during the pandemic.
During the afternoon, María Gámez also plans to visit the GRS facilities in Zaragoza.
The Civil Guard in Aragon
The demarcation of the Civil Guard of Aragon is characterized by being a very extensive territory with a widely scattered population. The Aragon Zone is made up of the Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel Commanderies, and has more than 3,200 agents.
Among the crimes that generate the greatest social alarm, it should be noted that in Aragon there has been a decrease in robberies with force in homes and establishments. Specifically, during 2020 they have decreased by 28.35% compared to the previous year.
In relation to thefts in agricultural and livestock farms, in 2020 there has been a decrease of 14.62% compared to 2019.
