The general director of the Civil Guard presides over the delivery of titles to the 42nd Class of NCOs
María Gámez has presided over the act of delivery of the job titles to 500 members of the XLII Access Course to the Scale of Non-commissioned Officers of the Civil Guard, 442 men and 58 women.
This morning, the general director of the Civil Guard, María Gámez, presided over the act of handing over the job titles to 500 members of the XLII Access Course to the NCO Scale, in a ceremony held at the College of Young Guards of the Civil Guard in the town of Valdemoro (Madrid).
María Gámez has shown her respect for the new NCOs, referring to them as “a fundamental and essential link in the robust chain that the Civil Guard represents”, adding that “without this great piece that you already are, this great machinery would not work”.
The general director has highlighted the ability to adapt due to the pandemic, the collective effort that has managed to overcome the limitations thanks to the will, tenacity and good work of teachers and students has managed to successfully complete the curriculum.
María Gámez has pointed out that the move to the NCO Scale “denotes a spirit of improvement and implies greater responsibility. You must be up to the task because you are starting to be a reference ”.
He has also had words for the sergeants who have been parents throughout this academic year, whom he has congratulated and congratulated. A total of 21 sergeants have become fathers and one sergeant will be a mother shortly.
The director explained that, due to the importance of training our troops, the next course will be carried out according to “a new study plan that includes two academic years. The objective, they have indicated, is to reinforce training and this is in addition to the notable increase in the jobs of NCOs proposed in the RD of templates for the period 2021-2025 and the reservation of places, for the first time, for the internal promotion of NCOs with a university degree at the Officer Scale.
“You must not forget that you are representatives of the Civil Guard. And around the values that characterize this Body, you will have to develop your work day by day and contribute, each one from their own sphere, so that the image of the Body is the best possible ”, he reminded them.
María Gámez has continued her words by pointing out that the sergeants, many of them post commanders, are in charge in all the municipalities of Spain where the Civil Guard structures the territory and makes the country, to establish relations with citizen groups and to open even more the Institution to society.
The general director has also made reference to the fact that in the Civil Guard of the XXI century, diversity and real equality between men and women must be a fact and she trusts that with the involvement and support of the whole world, the 58 women who today become sergeants will be many more in the following promotions.
To conclude, the general director recalled the civil guards who gave their lives in the act of service: "The example of the fulfillment of duty as public servants of all will always remain in our memory together with the recollection of their relatives and friends."
42nd Promotion of NCOs
The 42nd Promotion of access to the Scale of Non-commissioned Officers of the Civil Guard is made up of 500 agents who have completed their training between the Baeza Academy and the El Escorial Civil Guard Academy.
442 men and 58 women have taken the XLII training course.
Of the 500 sergeants, 278 have accessed the Escala from the Civil Guard job, 124 from the Cabo Primero job and 98 from the Cabo job.
Among those who today receive the title of noncommissioned officer there are 256 who hold university studies.
