The councilor of the Municipal VOX Group in the City of Fuengirola, Antonio Luna, today celebrated that the City Council has picked up the request of this Group to provide a solution to people who, due to different health situations, have to make domestic use of injectables and that they did not have a place to deposit the used needles and injectables, legally considered as hazardous sanitary waste.
In a Press Conference, the councilor recalled that, last November, after taking various steps, the GM VOX obtained a report from the Ministry of Health, which reported that the competition in the collection of this type of waste in the domestic sphere it is municipal. In this way, Luna informed the Government team, with the aim of having what was necessary to provide a solution to the neighbors who are faced with this situation, and avoid the risk that these needles and waste considered dangerous end up dumped in places inappropriate with the danger that this implies.
On the other hand, the councilor has registered a Motion in which he urges the City Council to extend the maximum closing hours of hospitality establishments, currently set at 02:00 hours, thus adopting the new regulatory framework offered by the Board of Andalusia to the municipalities.
The councilor explained that, given the current situation in which a return to business in the hotel and restaurant business is expected, "it is necessary for all administrations to propose measures to help alleviate the difficult situation in which the crisis health has left this key sector for our economy. "
Luna has referred to the "importance of this economic sector in the regional economy", which is reflected in the labor market: Andalusia registered last year about 55,000 establishments, which employed 295,000 people. This sector closed 2019 with a turnover in the community of 17,000 million euros, which represents 5.9% of the regional wealth.
