Public order work carried out by the Police and the Armed Forces must be carried out within Bolivian legality and international human rights law.
Spain supports the immediate start of an independent investigation into the deaths in clashes last Friday in Cochabamba. The government of Spain again points out that the legitimate right to protest must always be exercised peacefully.
All the actors involved must contribute to the restoration of institutional normality and the holding of new elections with all democratic guarantees as soon as possible as the only possible way out of the current crisis. The holding of said elections must be the fundamental priority of the current interim authorities.
