The Deputies of the VOX Parliamentary Group in Congress Javier Ortega Smith, José María Sánchez García, Eduardo Luis Ruiz, Patricia de las Heras, Pedro Fernández, Luis Gestoso, Lourdes Méndez and Joaquín Robles They have presented in Congress a series of questions to the Sánchez government.

Collateral damage from the coronavirus is being suffered by all sectors of society as a whole, although for the moment and through the decrees launched by the Government, various aid measures are going to be able to reach some groups in order to face these moments of paralysis. However, this does not happen the same in all sectors.

Since the approval of the state of alarm, only the essential services of the Administration of Justice have been maintained, allowing the registration of the writings submitted to the judicial and fiscal offices electronically. Although today a lawyer can be allowed to carry out his work, the truth is that such permissiveness due to the non-establishment of restrictions does not coincide with the real activity of a lawyer, since the procedural and judicial terms have been suspended.

However, despite the paralysis of judicial activity, the expenses of the lawyers and the Colleges are still considerable. Lawyers continue to pay the fee of the Bar Association, to which they are attached, as well as, where appropriate, the fee of the General Mutual Society of Lawyers and / or the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers. These are compulsory costs to practice the profession.

In this situation, the group of lawyers in the province of Murcia denounces that the union has to continue paying these compulsory expenses for the exercise of their profession, without actually being able to exercise them given the suspension of the procedures that encompass the work of these professionals. Which implies an inequality in absolute terms.

For this reason, the Deputies of the VOX Parliamentary Group ask questions in Congress about whether the Government is going to articulate economic support measures for practicing lawyers and / or for professional associations in the province of Murcia, as well as if they think Government to adopt some solution for the collegiate lawyers in the province of Murcia subject to alternative regimes that support the payment of the Mutuals (Mutualidad de la Abogacía or Alter Mutua) and of the college fees.
