It is also proposed that, through the bullfighting programming of RTVE, documentaries of bullfighting figures be broadcast and reports on bullfighting from the socio-environmental point of view

The Popular Parliamentary Group has requested, by means of a Proposition not of Law in the Congress, that RTVE, through its bullfighting programming, replace the great historical tasks of bullfighting, issue documentaries of the great figures, and make reports of bullfighting from the environmental partner vita point. All this, due to the coronavirus pandemic, and until normality is reached in TVE programming, recovering weekly public service programs.

As underlined by the GPP in its initiative – signed by its spokesperson, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, its deputy spokesperson Macarena Montesinos, its spokesperson on the RTVE Commission, Eduardo Carazo, its Culture spokesperson, Sol Cruz-Guzmán, and the Tomás Cabezón deputies , Tristana Moraleja, Carmen Riolobos and Andrés Lorite-, bullfighting is part of traditional and popular culture, and is also a representative element without which most of our festive celebrations as a people cannot be understood.

In addition, as the Popular Group recalls, bulls are part of our cultural heritage, they are Marca España, they help curb rural depopulation, it is a first-rate economic sector, with great professional activity, and they enrich our ecological heritage.

In this sense, the GPP highlights that Bullfighting directly employs thousands of bullfighting professionals and, indirectly, many other professionals
