• Request that RTVE also incorporate it on its website because it cannot be left out of a gesture of mourning for this drama
The Popular Parliamentary Group has requested with a Proposal not of Law in Congress that TVE wear a black crepe on the screen in mourning for the victims of COVID-19.
Specifically, the GPP urges the RTVE Corporation "to include on the TVE screen and on the website a black crepe in memory of all the victims of the coronavirus while the state of alarm lasts."
In the explanatory memorandum of this initiative, signed by the GPP spokesperson, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, the attached spokesperson Macarena Montesinos and the GPP spokesperson in the RTVE Commission, Eduardo Carazo, the Popular Group states that “there is a social consensus on the recognition due to many of the deceased who have been for their selfless health work, control of confinement or in the fulfillment of other essential tasks in this exceptional time. " "The victims as a whole deserve our most sincere respect and condolences," he adds.
"All public administrations have in these circumstances an inexcusable duty to remind and remember the victims of the coronavirus, which can be expressed in multiple ways, but among which the declaration of official mourning reaches the maximum affirmation of the disconsolate that one wishes to share," he recalls. the GPP with its initiative.
"The RTVE Corporation, as a public service, cannot be left out of this gesture of condolence and condolences, and given its social influence as a means of communication, it is obliged to express it permanently in its chains and media," says the GPP. "The incorporation of a black crepe in an angle of the screen, sometimes used for other causes and without distorting the content of the broadcast, would be a timely gesture to express its sensitivity in this drama," he adds.
Likewise, the GPP has presented a battery of questions about RTVE to, among other issues, find out if the Sole Administrator of RTVE, Rosa María Mateo, "plans to request his appearance to account for the role of the Corporation in the coronavirus crisis" .
