This is a new call for aid launched by the Ministry since the state of alarm was decreed and after the Royal Decree Law on support measures for the cultural sector to deal with the COVID-19 crisis.
These grants are aimed at the independent distributors of Spanish, community and Ibero-American productions released between the last quarter of 2018 and the end of 2019.
The individual amount of aid may cover up to 50% of the film's distribution costs, up to a maximum of 150,000 euros, such as: print run, subtitling, dubbing, advertising, promotion, measures against piracy and technical means and resources invested to guarantee the universal accessibility of the film for people with disabilities.
With these grants, the ICAA wants to support the distribution made by independent distributors to offer citizens a heterogeneous and diverse panorama of European and Ibero-American production, with special attention to those that have stood out for their participation in festivals and obtaining prizes, in addition for its cultural interest as an expression of cultural and human diversity.
