The Ministries of Education and FP and Universities will adopt the necessary measures so that no student misses the course due to the suspension of classroom classes


The Secretary of State for Education and Vocational Training, Alejandro Tiana, and the Secretary General for Universities, José Manuel Pingarrón, have chaired this working session, in which the main objective has been to consider the various scenarios derived from the state of alarm declared on passed March 15, 2020.

From the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and from that of Universities it has been guaranteed that there will be no negative consequences for the students by the current decree. "We have met today to ensure that no student is going to miss the course due to the current circumstances and also to guarantee that access to the University is going to take place in terms of equity and justice for all," as stated by the ministries. .

In relation to the Assessment for University Access (EVAU) tests, the two ministries and the representatives of the Autonomous Communities have expressed their willingness to work in a coordinated manner for the benefit of all students. In this sense, it has been determined that the Assessment for University Access (EVAU) test will be carried out, as well as a postponement of it, for which it works in coordination with all the agents involved, from the two ministries. The adaptation of the university enrollment calendar will be adapted to that of the test.

Regarding work placements and dual VET, the MEFP, according to the Autonomous Communities, has proposed the flexibility of the practices necessary to pass the course. In relation to the entrance tests to Vocational Training of medium or higher degree for those who do not have the academic requirements of access to these teachings, the schedule of tests and enrollment will be adapted and a reservation of places will be maintained so that no student run out of access possibilities. These initiatives will take shape at a meeting of the Vocational Training Commission to be held next week.

The General Committee of Vocational Training, Clara Sanz, also participated in the meeting of the General Committee of the Education Conference, held today by telematic means; the general director of Evaluation and Territorial Cooperation, Consuelo Vélaz de Medrano, and representatives of the Autonomous Communities and the Conference of Rectors (CRUE).

In addition to these measures, the MEFP has made all the available digital resources available to the Autonomous Communities and the educational community as a whole and is working on other initiatives to reduce the digital divide among students with fewer resources.
