The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has reinforced the extinguishing device sent to Tarragona to support Catalonia in the fight against the forest fire declared in the town of Torre de l'Espanyol, increasing up to 10 air assets and displacing 2 brigades of specialists in extinction to this declared fire of level 2.
They work, therefore in the zone 2 amphibious planes Canadair of 5.500 littros of discharge coming from the bases of Torrejón in Madrid and of Zaragoza, in addition to 2 airplanes of load in ground Airtractor 802, of 3.100 liters of capacity of deposit, of the base of Empuriabrava in Gerona.
In addition, 1 Kamov helicopter with 4, 500 liters helicopter from the Mutxamel base in Alicante and 1 Communications and Observation aircraft have been incorporated, recording aerial images in real time on the evolution of the fire at the Matacán base in Salamanca.
In order to support the aerial resources in the extinction work, 2 Reinforcement Brigades against forest fires have also been moved with 4 helicopters of transport and unloading of 1,100 liters, coming from the bases of Prado de Esquiladores in Cuenca and Daroca in Zaragoza.
