The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has sent today an important contingent of air and land resources to collaborate with the Autonomous Community of Extremadura in the extinction of the fire declared in the municipality of Garganta la Olla (Cáceres).
Up to there, two Canadair amphibious airplanes, with 5,500 liters of discharge capacity, have moved from the bases of Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid) and Talavera la Real (Badajoz).
Also fighting the flames of this fire is a Kamov-type helicopter, with 4,500 liters of discharge, which is based in Plasencia de Cáceres.
Likewise, two Forest Fire Reinforcement Brigades (BRIF), from the bases of Pinofranqueado (Cáceres) and La Iglesuela, (Toledo), each with their two transport and extinction helicopters, work in this fire.
The device of the Ministry of Agriculture completes a Mobile Analysis and Planning Unit (UMAP), of the Cáceres base.
