The victim has two children and there is no record of previous complaints against the alleged aggressor for gender-based violence. This has been attempted suicide and is serious in the hospital. With this confirmation and two last week, the number of women killed so far this year amounts to fourteen, totaling 1,047 since 2003.

Both the Ministry of Equality and the Government Delegation against Gender Violence want to reaffirm their will to fight against machismo and against structural inequality to guarantee the rights of all people, in order to realize the cry of the feminist movement: We want each other alive.

The Ministry of Equality, through the Government Delegation against Gender Violence, also wishes to recall the existence of the Telephone Information and Legal Advice Service on Gender Violence, through the abbreviated telephone number 016.

As the Government delegate against Gender Violence recently announced, an institutional appearance will be held on the first Thursday of each month to assess the situation of sexist violence in Spain and the policies that are being carried out. This March will take place this Thursday, day 5.
