This administrative agreement, which is part of the framework cooperation agreement established in 2001, aims to promote the development of the Global Donation and Transplant Observatory (GODT) providing the necessary technical support from the National Transplant Organization (ONT) for the collection and management of global data in this area, as well as legislative and organizational systems.
In addition, it will support the WHO Transplant Program, supporting the activities of said organism aimed at increasing the population's access to transplants, as well as improving the quality and safety of organs, tissues and cells for clinical use in humans and ensure compliance with the Guiding Principles of Transplantation.
The agreement, which lasts until October 31, 2020, carries with it an economic contribution for an amount of 320,000 euros that will go towards the development of projects and initiatives that the World Health Organization will consult with the ONT. It was signed for the first time in 2005, date from which it has been renewed promptly.
