Since March 10, a total of 4,046,089 masks have been distributed throughout the national territory. The distribution criteria are based on the percentage of the population and on the epidemiological needs. Thus, the Community of Madrid has received 29.96% of this sanitary material (1,212,261 masks), followed by Catalonia (513,393 masks that represent 12.69% of the total distributed).
Furthermore, the distribution of COVID-19 rapid detection tests has already begun. This same Sunday, the first 8,000 tests were distributed in the Community of Madrid. In total, the Ministry has acquired 640,000 rapid tests from China, to which another six million imported from European countries will be added.
