The Ministry of Health has promoted a ministerial order making public and private clinical diagnostic laboratories available to the autonomous communities.
According to Order SND / 344/2020, of April 13, published today in the BOE, All these health centers, services and establishments that are not providing service in the National Health System, as well as their staff, will be at the service of the CCAA.
Order SND / 344/2020, of April 13, which establishes exceptional measures for the strengthening of the National Health System and the containment of the health crisis caused by COVID-19, also establishes the requirements for carrying out diagnostic tests for the detection of COVID-19. Thus, these tests must be prescribed by a doctor in accordance with the guidelines, instructions and criteria agreed to that effect by the competent health authority. In addition, all the centers, regardless of their ownership, must notify the CCAA of confirmed cases of COVID-19 that they have become aware of after carrying out the diagnostic tests.
The order published today in the BOE establishes "the possibility of adopting the necessary measures to regulate the prices of these tests, in order to avoid abusive situations in accessing this service."
Finally, the obligation is established that public or private entities that acquire material to carry out diagnostic tests "must inform the competent health authority of the autonomous community in which they are located and / or provide their services, indicating expresses the type of material, number of units purchased and destination of use. "
