The National Dramatic Center returns to the stage with the trilogy "LA PIRA", a cathartic streaming on the experience of confinement

With the bonfires of San Juan the purifying fire that will give way to new desires arrives at the María Guerrero and Valle-Inclán theaters.

This trilogy is composed by The shock, The distance and Uncertainty, three pieces written, each one by three names proper to our contemporary dramaturgy, based on their views on the pandemic.

After resuming its activity with the celebration of Music Day together with the other production units of the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM), the National Dramatic Center (CDN) returns to the stage to continue telling stories to its audience and remind them that the theater is more alive than ever, highlighting the talent of the performing profession in our country.

Each chapter of this trilogy will have a different direction and artistic team. In turn, the format of streaming defends the importance of live theater, giving continuity to the virtual platform The CDN Window, that started at the beginning of the confinement.

The shock

The first production, with text by Eva Mir, Alfredo Sanzol and Victoria Szpunberg, and under the direction of Alfredo Sanzol, is a reflection on the unexpected of the situation in which we have been immersed as a result of the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It will be broadcast live on Friday, June 26 at 8:00 p.m. from the María Guerrero Theater.

Distance

The second of the functions, written by Andrea Jiménez and Noemi Rodríguez, Juan Mayorga and Pau Miró, and under the direction of Andrea Jiménez and Noemi Rodríguez, deals with separation, literally and figuratively, recommended to avoid contagion, and the consequences of this on our day to day. It will be broadcast live on Friday, July 3 at 8:00 p.m. from the Valle-Inclán Theater

Uncertainty

The third and last of the montages, with text by Lucía Carballal, Denise Despeyroux and Pablo Remón, and under the direction of the latter, will be about the uncertain future in which the pandemic has left us, and will seek to develop a line of thought about the unknown behavior of this virus, which translates into the unpredictable dynamics of the moment we are going through. It will be broadcast live on Friday, July 10 at 8:00 p.m. from the María Guerrero Theater.

The works will be scheduled for a week. They can be seen in streaming during his live performance on stage on our official Facebook and YouTube accounts as well as on the web The CDN Window. Also, the recordings resulting from streamings will be available at The CDN Window and social networks until July 16.
