The Awareness and Volunteering Plan in the National Park Network, which started in 2002, has allowed since its creation the participation of around 16,000 volunteers, which makes it one of the most important social and environmental volunteer programs in Spain . The initiative is carried out by means of a call for subsidies, under an advertising, objectivity and competitive competition regime. For this fiscal year 2020, the budget allocation is 500,000 euros.
