The National Police deploys more than 23,000 agents to ensure security in tourist areas

To the approximately 20,000 citizen security agents expressly assigned to this operation will be joined another 3,083 that, shortly, begin their internship period after finishing their formative period at the National School of Ávila
Madrid and Andalusia are the autonomous communities that will have more reinforcement agents, specifically 7,598 in the Madrid community and 6,059 in the Andalusian, although the deployment will also be made in the Valencian Community, Canary Islands, Galicia, Asturias, Balearic Islands, Murcia and Cantabria
The agents will monitor the main communication routes, stations, ports, airports, hotels, beaches or any area of ​​high tourist concentration, reinforcing security measures in shows and events involving large concentrations of people
The SATE (Foreign Tourist Assistance Service) existing in the main tourist spots -Alicante, Malaga, Madrid, Granada, Valencia or the Balearic Islands among others- will offer personalized assistance in different languages ​​to facilitate and streamline various procedures
In addition, the National Police will establish a specific device in those other cities that celebrate such festivities in Pamplona, ​​where specialized agents of the UFAM will participate in the fiestas of San Fermín to prevent actions against sexual freedom and integrity; or in Madrid, where the Group of Hate Crimes will intervene in those incidents against sexual orientation and identity
