In an extraordinary meeting of its executive committee, the CEC has agreed to carry out the following recognitions:
Business Group Hervaz. The CEC recognizes the trajectory of this company, founded in 1950 by Manuel Vázquez Fernández, dedicated to agricultural and livestock activities. In 1966, the company acquired the Dehesa de las Yeguas, in the Alcornocales Natural Park, an emblematic operation of the family group. From there, it begins its diversification in different sectors: energy, real estate, industrial (first ice producer in Europe), innovation applied to the agri-food sector, engineering, consulting, medicine, etc. The recognition of the CEC wants to make visible the impetus, effort and generation of wealth by this family business.
Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras. The recognition of entrepreneurs in the province of Cadiz underscores the importance and economic traction of the first port in Spain, that of Algeciras. This infrastructure generates, according to various studies, more than 28,000 jobs -direct, indirect and induced- and 2,010 million euros of Gross Added Value to the Andalusian economy. The CEC extends its recognition to the value chain of this important economic generator and its incalculable strategic value as a point of access to Europe from the South.
Lastly, the CEC recognizes, on an equal footing, the five wine companies in the province of Cádiz that have maintained their management in the hands of the same families since its inception: Barbadillo, Caballero, Delgado Zuleta, González Byass and Osborne. These companies are managed by sixth and seventh generations, and in some cases by the ninth generation of families, which symbolizes and represents the business tradition of the province, the effort to maintain and continue emblematic activities through its brands and products, icons recognized worldwide. The five wineries that, since the beginning of their activity, are in the hands of the same families, highlighting their continuity.
The president of the CEC, Javier Sánchez Rojas, who has already contacted the representatives of these entities and companies to communicate these acknowledgments, has expressed his satisfaction with the decision of the executive committee. "The election of these awards symbolizes, together, the values we want to transmit with our Night: the pride of being an entrepreneur, the initiative, the drive, the perseverance, the tradition, the weight of the Campo de Gibraltar and the importance of cohesion territorial of our province ", has expressed.
Solemn lowered of the Spanish Flag
Sánchez Rojas recalled that the Night of the Company 2019 entails another implicit acknowledgment: that of the Spain navy, when celebrating this business party in the hangars of the Flotilla de Aeronaves of the Naval Base of Rota. "In addition to the important economic weight of our Navy, whose fleet has its general headquarters in Rota, our Night also symbolizes our recognition of the service rendered to our Navy society, in the defense of Spain and our model of freedoms and democracy."
The program of the Night of the Company includes this year, after the end of the ceremony and before the cocktail party, the celebration of the solemn act of lowering of the Flag of Spain, specifically an Insignia that the CEC has delivered to the Navy , replica of the combat flag of the flagship of the Navy, the "King Juan Carlos I".
Sánchez Rojas stressed that the Night of the Company 2019 "will be the biggest event in the province of Cádiz around the world of the company", after the previous editions: 2015 in the historic site of the Matagorda Shipyards in Navantia in Puerto Real, and 2017 in the Real Plaza de Toros of El Puerto de Santa María.
