As an annual balance, it should be noted that the number of average members throughout the year 2019 has been the highest in history. There were 19,278,721 average workers, 491,343 employed more than in 2018, when 18,787,378 affiliates registered on average. The increase, therefore, is 2.62%.
In December, the highest number of women affiliates has been registered since there are registrations: 9,060,045, which means that they represent 46.68% of the total membership. In annual terms, the growth in the number of female workers was 2.65%. On the other hand, the group of male affiliates, which amounted to 10,348,493, grew by 1.48%.
In seasonally adjusted terms, the affiliation behavior was also favorable during last December, with a growth of 8,888 people employed.
If we compare December 2019 with December 2018, the System accounted for an average of 384,373 members more than a year ago, an increase of 2.02% on average that reaches 2.36% in the General Regime.
Inter-monthly evolution
With respect to the month of November, the System computed 31,659 more affiliated persons (0.16%), reaching 19,408,538 workers. In the General Regime, whose number of affiliates amounted to 16,076,050, the increase compared to the previous month in the sector of Commerce, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, with 25,422 more members, and in Health Activities and Social Services (19,231) ).
On the other hand, membership decreased in Construction (-25,763), Hospitality (-14,683) and Manufacturing Industry (-11,450).
The Special System of Agricultural Workers, ended the month with 37,891 more average members (5.12%), and stood at 777,865 employed. For its part, the Special System for Household Employees accounted for 758 fewer members (-0.19%) and registered 396,626 average workers.
The Autonomous Workers Regime, meanwhile, registered 3,269,089 members in December and the Special Sea Regime 62,115 affiliated persons. Finally, the Special Coal Regime had 1,284 employees on average.
By autonomous communities, the largest increase in the number of affiliates was recorded in Andalusia (1.21%), followed by Castilla-La Mancha (0.36%), Madrid (0.35%) and the Canary Islands (0.31% ). The largest decrease occurred in the Balearic Islands (-3.61%), followed by Navarra (-0.47%) and Castilla y León (-0.34%).
Interannual growth
The average of affiliates throughout the year 2019 has been 19,278,721 workers, the highest figure in the series. In 2018, the average number of affiliates for the entire period was 18,787,378, which means that 491,343 employees (2.62%) have joined the average in the last twelve months.
In interannual terms, if we compare December 2019 with December 2018, the System gained 384,373 affiliates, which represents 2.02%. The good performance of the General Regime stands out, which alone adds 371,167 workers (2.36%). The growth reaches 2.89% (418,592 more affiliates) if we talk about the General Regime without taking into account the special Agrarian systems for others and the Household.
The number of affiliates of the Special Scheme for Autonomous Workers also increased, which added 14,425 persons employed compared to the same month of a year ago. The interannual rate was in December at an increase of 0.44% in this regime.
The Regime of the Sea registered 505 fewer workers in the last year and the Special Coal Regime accounted for a decrease of 715 members.
Membership increased in all autonomous communities in the last year except in Extremadura, where it experienced a decrease of -0.17%. The growth of Madrid (2.93%), Murcia (2.82%) and Navarra (2.55%) stand out.
