With the objective of intensifying relations between both institutions, the recently appointed director of the ProColombia Office in Spain, Silverio Gómez Carmona, held an institutional meeting with the CEO of International CEOE and permanent secretary of the Council of Ibero-American Businessmen-CEIB, Narciso Casado, at the headquarters of Spanish businessmen. During the meeting, they discussed future bilateral collaborations on such important issues for the Region as the boost of the orange economy and all the preparatory events for the XXVII Ibero-American Summit, which will be held next November 2020 in Andorra.

Within the framework of the meeting, the new director of ProColombia highlighted his institution's interest in knowing in depth the Spanish business fabric and showed his willingness to strengthen the business ties that unite Spain and Colombia, with the aim of promoting development and growth of both countries. In this sense, Narciso Casado offered the CEOE platform, and especially that of its territorial and sector organizations.

Relations between Spain and Colombia have been very favorable over the past few years and the links that exist between both countries, both historical and economic, are very close, he said. These extend from the political, cultural and economic field, highlighting events such as the one held at the headquarters of the CEOE itself last September 2019, on the occasion of the visit of the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, José Manuel Restrepo.

Likewise, Casado highlighted the important work that CEIB, together with the Ibero-American Secretary General-SEGIB, are doing in the strategic Ibero-American space as a follow-up to the mandates emanating from the Ibero-American summits of Heads of State and Government.

Among the various activities planned, the permanent secretary of CEIB highlighted the next IV Ibero-American Forum of the MSME, launched by SEGIB, CEOE-CEIB and the National Confederation of Industries-CNI of Brazil, which will take place in the first week of next June 2020
