The Popular Parliamentary Group has registered a battery of questions in Congress to find out if the Government plans to subject the National Health System to a stress test considering a possible outbreak of the coronavirus, an initiative that the PSOE defends in the European Parliament in line with the nursing union Satse, while the State Confederation of Medical Trade Unions is of the opposite opinion when asking what more tests of resistance does a system that already has several
months facing the pandemic crisis.

In the explanatory memorandum of the initiatives, the GPP points out that the press specialized in health information published on May 23, 2020 an article on the proposal made by the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the European Parliament for national and regional health systems are subjected to a 'stress test' with the aim of "evaluating the European health response capacity and solving the detected deficiencies" with a view to a possible outbreak of the coronavirus COVID -19.

He adds that while representatives of the Nursing are in favor, the opinion of the State Confederation of Medical Unions is that such tests are not necessary in Spain, for which reason the GPP asks the Executive the following:

-Is the government planning to promote any initiative at any time to subject the National Health System to a ‘stress test’ with which to find out its real response capacity to COVID-19 and resolve “the detected deficiencies”?

-If so, in what actual time frames? Will the exercise agree with the Autonomous Communities? And with the representatives of the professionals? And with the
private initiative?

-If not, for what reasons?

The battery of questions is signed by the PP deputy secretaries Jaime de Olano, Elvira Rodríguez and Cuca Gamarra, the Deputy to the General Secretariat of the GPP, Isabel Borrego, the deputy spokespersons José Ignacio Echániz and Mario Garcés, the second vice president of Congress, Ana Pastor, the spokesperson for Health, Elvira Velasco, and the deputies Rosa Romero, Juan Antonio Callejas and Agustín Almodóbar.
