La diputada del GPP en el Congreso de los Diputados, Valentina Martínez

He states that the answer to the increase in infections in Spain cannot be that "it is the norm in Europe"

The International Secretary of the Popular Party, Valentina Martínez, criticized today that the Government's response to the increase in infections in our country is that “it is the norm in Europe”, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs has stated in an interview today , European Union and Cooperation, Arancha González Laya. Thus he highlighted that Spain "is the third country in Europe with the most deaths in 14 days according to data from the European Commission, the country in Europe with the most infections currently, and the fifth in the world", so he asked if the Government has a plan to face this situation and the one that comes, with the return of the holidays, the beginning of the course and the arrival of seasonal viruses, such as the flu, "or the plan is to blame the PP for disloyalty as the minister has done."

For the International Secretary, “the figures show that Spain is one of the worst countries in the world in the fight against the pandemic and that it is also currently experiencing the worst outbreaks. Criticizing the opposition, as they have been doing since the beginning of the pandemic, instead of seeking their support and ways of understanding, is a way of blaming others for one's mistakes. The Government is not capable of assuming responsibilities because the situation has overwhelmed it from the first minute, ”he denounced.
The Popular Party celebrated the historic pact for reconstruction after the pandemic reached in Brussels unanimously among the 27 member countries of the European Union. A pact in which, as Martínez recalls, “the main leaders of the EPP, a family to which the PP belongs, have contributed, as well as the president of the European Commission, Úrsula Von Der Leyen, and the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel ”. "We have worked and collaborated with them to achieve the best agreement for Spain", he highlights.
It also reminds the Government that it is they who have not yet implemented the agreements on health matters adopted in the Commission for the Reconstruction of the Congress of Deputies. "Instead of criticizing the opposition for doing its job, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation should present as soon as possible that plan for the recovery of the external image of Spain that we would have needed so much in July, to help give confidence and certainty to international tourism ”, claimed the Secretary of International.
Lastly, Valentina Martínez has been convinced that Spain cannot be given a good image in the rest of the world “when, instead of taking the country forward, we limit ourselves to criticizing the opposition. The Popular Party does not encourage populism, it encourages the well-being of Spaniards to be achieved above all ”, he has settled.
