The CEO of International CEOE, Marta Blanco, participated today in an event, organized by ICEX-Spain Export and Investment and the United States Foreign Trade Service in Spain, on investment opportunities in key sectors of the United States, such as aerospace , aviation or renewable energy. Blanco intervened in a panel on the tools to invest in the US. and the SelectUSA Summit, in which ICEX Digital Development Director Jorge Andreu also participated; the Director of Corporate Development of the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, Andrés Pereda; and the representative of the USA Program Coordination Department of the Center for Technological and Industrial Development (CDTI), José Javier Romero. The table was modernized by the commercial attaché of the United States Embassy, ​​Ricardo Peláez.

During the event, opened by the Director General of Institutional Cooperation and Coordination of ICEX, Alberto Cerdán and the Counselor for Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of the United States of America, Cameron Walker, other issues of interest to the Spanish companies attending were addressed, as financial, legal and assurance instruments; investment opportunities in the aerospace and aviation sector; the opportunities in the renewable energy sector; and USA investment visas.

CEOE role

Marta Blanco highlighted the important role that CEOE plays in supporting the business sector in the framework of relations between Spain-USA. On a bilateral level, he highlighted the close relationship and collaboration between the Business Confederation and the US Embassy. In fact, we collaborate in the organization of business meetings, meetings and sessions, such as the meeting on investment opportunities in Miami in January 2018 or the briefing with the US Foreign Investment Committee. (CFIUS) on May 10 of the same year, where the economic advisor of the US Embassy in Spain, Cameron Walker reported on various aspects of the investment summit. He also explained that, from CEOE, trade policy is monitored and information disseminated to associates; and in the framework of trips and official visits, CEOE collaborates with the Secretary of State for Commerce and with the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, as is the case of the next official trip of SS.MM. the Kings to Washington on April 21.

At the international level, Marta Blanco emphasized the role of CEOE to transfer business interests in international forums, such as the B20, the OECD or the Global Business Coalition (GBC), always in close collaboration and in line with the positions of the similar entities in the USA, that is, the United States Chamber of Commerce (USCC) and the United States Council for International Business (USCIB). He also highlighted the constant relationship between CEOE and the US Department of Commerce. and with multilateral organizations, such as the World Bank or the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
