CEOE president, Antonio Garamendi, has participated in the inauguration of the France-Spain Economic Forum in Paris. A forum that is held for the first time and which has been attended by the Third Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, and the Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry of the French Government, Bruno Le Maire. In addition, the event was attended by the president of MEDEF, the French employers' association, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, the French counterpart of the CEOE president.
A delegation of Spanish and French businessmen also participated in the event, highlighting the importance of business cooperation between both countries. Antonio Garamendi highlighted that both CEOE and MEDEF are strategic partners to promote business relationships between both countries. An opinion also shared by his French counterpart who said: "We are the companies that are really capable of giving a new impetus to the relationship between France and Spain."
For her part, the Vice President of the Spanish Government valued unity and cooperation as the main levers to face the current situation. The French minister recalled that France is the first customer for exports and the fourth foreign investor in Spain, where there are about 2,000 companies in which 350,000 people work.
Both Calviño and Le Maire thanked the presidents of MEDEF, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, and CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, for the initiative to create the first bilateral economic forum.
