The Autism Ceuta Association has received this Wednesday the donation of part of the diet for attending the Board of Directors of the Port Authority that corresponds to the president of VOX Ceuta, Juan Sergio Redondo. After delivering the other half to Caritas the day before, Redondo visited the association's facilities in Rafael Gilbert Square to make the donation and learn more about the work that Autismo Ceuta does.
The center has become too small to attend to the 90 children and young people who attend therapy. Up to 16 professionals work to meet the growing demand by Ceuta families for the specific work that children with autism need. For this reason, the president of the association, Javier Expósito, thanked the VOX president for his contribution.
"For us, any granite from outside that comes from outside is a great contribution because we are an association that is only financed 40% by the Autonomous City while the other 60% of the expenses are borne by our own resources," Expósito said. "We have a staff of 16 workers that costs a lot of effort to maintain, so any contribution is appreciated and, more so to VOX, which is not the first time they have collaborated with us," he said.
"Our commitment was to allocate the diet as a counselor of the Port Authority to Cáritas, which we did yesterday, and the Autism Association, from which we know the important work they do with children," Redondo recalled. The president of VOX Ceuta has highlighted how, given the growing needs of this association, it is important to "contribute to the care they carry out". "Any contribution is essential and will revert to the necessary assistance that these children need," he concluded.
As already announced when joining the Council of the Port Authority in February, Redondo has delivered the financial compensation for attending the meetings of this body to social entities. An initiative that will continue until the diets, as requested by the training, are eliminated. And is that, VOX has criticized that they are an "excessive" expense that "should not exist."
